Art Appreciation Project
During the first quarter of the 2009-2010 school year, the 7th & 8th grade students studied different artists and art styles. Each student was assigned an artist to research and create a work of art based on that research. The work could be a copy of one of the artist's or an original work by the student based on the artist's style. The students also gave an oral presentation on the artist and the art work they created. This project was to give the students an opportunity to explore and experience an art style, to gain an understanding of that style and to express their own independent opinion on that style based on research and their own experience.
